We are pleased to announce the annual St. Mary’s Saints and Sinners 2017 Golf Classic at the beautiful Hempstead Golf and Country Club in Hempstead, New York, on Thursday, September 21, 2017.  Last year this event attracted over 100 golfers and tennis players from the worlds of insurance, finance, hospitality, real estate, and automotive industries for 18 holes of challenging golf and competitive tennis.  In addition to golf and tennis there will also be contests and games, brunch, cocktails and dinner with various auctions.

We hope you will join us on September 21 and take advantage of the numerous Saints and Sinners sponsorship opportunities which are detailed on the following pages.

For 100 years ST. Mary’s Church, located at the corner of Ridge Boulevard and 81st Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, has not only been a community leader in local charitable works, but an active participant in worldwide charities.  The Saints and Sinners Golf Classic will raise needed funds to begin the renovation of the church itself following the successful renovation and expansion of the social hall and educational wing.  St. Mary’s is a 501c(3) organization and 100% of the proceeds from this event will directly benefit the church and the charitable works it champions.

In conjunction with this outing we will present Mrs. Evelyn Shamoun with the parish’s Lifetime Achievement Award.  Evelyn has sung beautifully in our Choir for decades and is its longest serving member.  God bless you, Evelyn, for dedicating your marvelous voice to the glory of God, and God grant you many years.

We are also pleased to honor the late Elaine and Edward Ateyeh with the Victor J. Samra, Jr. Memorial Award in recognition of their life-long commitments to St. Mary’s Church and particularly for their service as youth workers, ever-ready volunteers, and Ed’s service as Parish Council Chairman.  May their memory be eternal, and may God be with their children, Edward and Michele, and their family.

Please feel free to contact us at or a St. Mary’s Saints and Sinners committee member with any questions.
